Luther Paxton was my Great Uncle and the family lived from Richmond. He (and several brothers) served with the Green Howards in WW1.
He was wounded near Ypres in 1915 and was evacuated to England where he was treated at Kettering Red Cross Volunteer Aid Detachment (VAD) Hospital.
During that time he maintained a small photographic album and a small book called "Efforts of my Friends" in which wounded comrades and nurses wrote poems and did drawings and paintings.
These are now both online here

Luther survived the war and for many years ran a plumbing and heating business on Castle Hill.
